All About Beef

For a lot of people, a low carb diet means a substantial amount of meat. While that’s not always the case—there are plenty of low carb vegans and vegetarians!—for those who are incorporating meat, it's important to know a little bit about where that meat is coming from.

Last year we put out a great podcast episode with Bart Simmons, owner of 2S Ranch and The Provision House. It was an informative episode covering the basics of what you need to know about your beef, where it comes from, the health of the cows and what that means for your health, too.

Today we added the clip below to our Info From Experts series on YouTube. In the clip, Bart explains the difference between labeling that reads "grass-fed" vs. "grass-fed, grass-finished", and also tells us what kinds of questions we might want to ask our butcher.

If you're interested in learning more from Bart, including his own experience with fasting, check out the whole video interview here, or catch the audio here.
