Once you get past the "keto flu", the results can be rewarding
/A recent article by Anchor Hope News spotlights how one student at Hope College has found success with the Keto Diet after watching her father enjoy success during his first year with the eating plan.
First, however, she had to survive the “keto flu” which some experience as a “withdrawal” effect from cutting back on the sugar and refined carbohydrates which are so common in the American diet. During this transition, the dieter can feel sluggish, find themselves annoyed easily, experience headaches and fatigue while their body makes the switch from burning carbs to fats.
As Tabitha Burrink puts it, “I am [was] a carb addict so it was like weaning myself off of a drug. I was tired all the time, short-tempered, wasn’t sleeping much because I was constantly hungry (all of these things are normal).”
But there is light at the end of the tunnel as your body adjusts.
“I had so much extra energy. I would work out and then sometimes do another workout that day because I had endless amounts of energy,” Burrink shared.
